The Fannin County Amateur Radio Club will sponsor their "Annual Field Day" on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the caretaker's cabin at the Lake Fannin Park, right down from the Lake Fannin Lodge.
This is a national event sponsored by the American Radio Relay League, the largest amateur radio organization in the United States, and nearly all local clubs are involved in a field day event on that day.
We invite any and all who might have an interest in ham radio to come see our setup and learn about what we do.
There will be several transmitting stations set up on different frequencies, using both voice and digital modes, and vistors can get hands on experience with guidance from members of our club.
We will begin around 9:00 a.m. and go until 9:00 p.m.
We can give you all the information you need to help you start the process to obtaining a ham radio license, and many of our members would be glad to help you.
For further information, call Roger Ashcraft KE5CCJ, field day chairman, at 903-583-9379.
