Bonham -- Many residents of North Texas spent much of Tuesday removing debris and surveying damage after a storm of surprising intensity swept through the area late Monday night and early Tuesday morning.

At Warrior Stadium in Bonham, the entire roof of the visitor's field house was blown off by straight-line winds, indicative of damage reports in Fannin and Grayson counties.

Fannin County Electric Co-op crews were busy all day Tuesday repairing damaged power lines and restoring electricity to customers all the way from Red River in the northern part of the county to the Collin County line.

In Bonham, the loss of power knocked out traffic signal lights and sent city workers scrambling to set up temporary four-way stop signs at affected intersections.

At the current time, the City of Bonham is only picking up debris in the right-of-way to open roadways back open.  Residents can bring tree debris to the dumpsite on the lot on 12th Street west of Hwy. 121 North near the Little League Baseball fields. This dumpsite will be open throught Saturday, June 16.
