At the June 6 meeting of the Bonham Rotary Club, Lewisville Police Lieutenant Michael Lane gave the program on Concealed Handgun License. Michael explained how you qualify for the license, the requirements prior to getting one, and the laws that govern a person who has a CHL license. He gave numerous examples of how one person with this license can save many lives, including protecting themselves. At the end of the program, he also gave a quick demonstration on firearm safety, especially with handguns.
Michael Lane lives here in Fannin County south of Ector with his wife and 2 daughters. He has taught many Concealed Handgun Classes. He served 2 years with the San Diego Police Department as a volunteer. served 6 years in the United States Navy and has a Master Peace Officer License. He has been a licensed Firearms Instructor for 14 years, non-lethal weapons instructor for 14 years, SWAT Teamleader for 12 years and is a Police Academy Instructor. He is very active in the NRA and has competed in many shooting championships, as well as the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association’s Annual SWAT Competition. He has been a member of the Texas Concealed Handgun Instructors Association for many years.
