The Mockingbird Chapter, a member of The Poetry Society of Texas, is hosting the 44th Summer Conference, “The Wide Wide World of Poetry,” on July 19, 20, 21, 2012. The Conference will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Allen, TX.

The conference begins on Thursday, July 19 with sessions in the afternoon and a dinner with internationally acclaimed poet Naomi Shihab Nye as the guest speaker. Poetry sessions continue through the day on Friday, including our traditional “You Be the Judge” session (attendees may enter a poem to be judged by the audience).

Our Friday evening banquet features Professor Scott Yarbrough as speaker. The conference concludes Saturday morning, July 21 with two poetry sessions then a mock state meeting.
