City of Bonham, Fannin County finalize EMS contract

Bonham -- The City of Bonham and Fannin County finalized a three-year contract that will enable the City of Bonham and Bonham Fire Department to continue providing emergency medical services (EMS) to all of Fannin County. Bonham Mayor Roy Floyd and Fannin County Judge Spanky Carter met at Bonham City Hall Thursday, May 14, 2012, to sign the contract.

Mayor Floyd singled out Bonham City Manager Corby Alexander, Bonham Fire Chief Brad Nichols and Judge Carter for successfully negotiating the EMS contract.

"This is an historic cooperation between the City of Bonham and Fannin County Commissioners to ensure great emergency care for all our citizens," stated Mayor Floyd. "This agreement will allow the city to plan ahead at least three years and give stability to our personnel who work so hard. We're proud of the emergency service Bonham/Fannin County EMS provides to our citizenry. A special thanks goes to Judge Spanky Carter, Chief Brad Nichols and City Manager Corby Alexander for making this agreement a reality."

"I feel this contract is a good deal for the county and a good deal for the city," remarked Judge Carter.
