Denison -- Theatre fans across Texoma are only a day or so away from an opportunity to see wonderful theatre in a wonderful theater.

Kurves, the Musical, an original two-act play written by Frank Steele and Amy Shojai is set to open 8:00 p.m. March 1 in Denison's historic and newly renovated Rialto Theater.

How often do you get to witness an ambitious new play premier in the historic theatre where Red River, an epic depiction of the first cattle drive from Texas to Kansas, premiered in 1948?

Punch lines come fast and furious in Steele and Shojai's challenging script that is matched perfectly with a cast that seems equally adept at tossing out jokes or belting out show tunes.

The versatile cast includes Craig Sturm, Amy Shojai, Cheri Anderson, Johnny Flowers, Leah Martin, Theresa Littlefield, Joe Maglio and Frank Steele.

Steele doubles as director, while Shojai provides musical direction.
