Park Place Dealerships recently relocated its Bedford Mercedes-Benz dealership to a new 112,000-square-foot facility in Grapevine, Texas. More than 2,600 guests, including Ernst Lieb, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, helped christen the new facility with a celebration that stretched across several showrooms, the client lounge, service garage and spilled out onto the covered patios.

The new Park Place Motorcars Grapevine sits on a 20-acre site off Highway 114 between Texan Trail and Minter’s Chapel Road, near DFW Airport.

On September 22, guests enjoyed a wide range of tantalizing treats from Bob's Steak and Chop House, Mi Dia, Winewood, Fireside Pies and Wendy Krispin Catering. Live entertainment ranged from a harpist and guitar act and a keyboard-trumpet duo in the service area to several ensembles playing throughout the dealership and DJ Andre spinning tunes and enticing guests to the showroom turned dance floor. Dapper Magazine featured Angels' Envy bourbon in the After Lounge and House of Cigars hand-rolled cigars on the patio. Elegant Cakery created a beautiful tower of white cupcakes filled with a delicious cream filling and topped with a vanilla icing and sparkling sugar.

“Park Place Motorcars Grapevine is the culmination of all our thinking from the past 24 years about providing the best experience for our clients,” said Ken Schnitzer, chairman of Park Place Dealerships. “This new facility was built solely with the client in mind. We continue to refine the design of our buildings to make sure the layout is extremely efficient and allows our team to operate at the highest level possible.”

The new Mercedes-Benz dealership features a 27,000 square-foot showroom that can accommodate up to 19 vehicles in a climate-controlled environment. Another 16 vehicles can be viewed outside under an elliptical canopy, giving clients a view of Mercedes-Benz’s extensive lineup of models.

Three service lanes will facilitate several cars coming into the dealership simultaneously for service. The 37,000 square-foot shop boasts 59 service bays, 12 interior prep bays, seven exterior prep bays and special bays to service the new commercial Sprinter vans. The larger facility allows experienced technicians to more efficiently service cars for a quicker turn-around for client satisfaction.

A featured wall in the showroom is clad in 1,000 square feet of Spinneybeck leather panels and back-lit LED light boxes which showcase photographs of current Mercedes-Benz models while surrounded by the spectacular line-up of 2012 Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Park Place Motorcars Grapevine is LEED Certified with a special car wash rinse recycling system and a Green Housekeeping program. The high albedo-coated roof and treated paving materials reduce the heat island effect. A concerted recycling effort during construction kept approximately 90-percent of construction waste out of landfills.

The interior space is completely furnished with classic modern furniture including Florence Knoll lounge chairs in all customer lounge areas. Eero Saarinen executive chairs can be found in the FoodWerks café off the client lounge and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe Four Seasons barstools are in the beverage center. Custom Tai Ping wool rugs were designed for all of the customer lounge areas.

Throughout the dealership, guests will find high-definition monitors displaying images of new Mercedes-Benz vehicles, lifestyle events and future Mercedes-Benz products.

Park Place Motorcars Grapevine provides complimentary wireless internet access, charging stations, personal computers, telephones and flat-screen televisions in the client lounge. There’s also a soundproof children’s area with books, games and entertainment options. Just off the client lounge is FoodWerks, a small café operated by Wendy Krispin offering salads, sandwiches and light fare throughout the day.

Park Place Motorcars Grapevine is also an authorized dealer of Sprinters, a line of commercial vehicles manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. The company is the world's largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles, and has sold more than one million Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans worldwide.

Connected to the dealership is Park Place BodyWerks, a state-of-the-art body shop. The first facility in Tarrant County for Park Place, BodyWerks is a 30,000-square-foot collision center featuring state-of-the-art equipment, including two paint booths, a Car-O-Liner frame machine and a Celette dedicated fixture bench.
