John M. Elkins celebrates half century of Masonry

A half of a century in Masonry was celebrated by John M. Elkins, Master Mason and a member of Acacia Lodge Number 452, Savannah, Georgia was present his 50th Anniversary pin, certificate and apron from the Grand Lodge of Georgia on December 14, 2010 and Andrew Randall Lodge Number 1342 of Sherman, Texas.
 
From the Grand Lodge of Georgia the presentation request was sent through the Grand Lodge of Texas and on to Worshipful Master H. B. Coats of Andrew Randall Lodge Number 1342, Sherman, Texas.  The Andrew Randall Lodge made the presentation to Brother Elkins.
 
 
Masonic brother John Merl Elkins was raised to a Master Mason degree in 1960 when he was assigned to the 2nd Bombardment Wing (SAC) and stationed at Hunter Air Force Base, Savannah, Georgia. He is also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite, York Rite, and is a member of Shrine in Hella Temple at Rowlett, Texas.  Elkins was promoted to Brigadier General, Texas Military Forces (retired) by Governor Rick Perry in June 2005.
 
Elkins and his family resides in the Luella community after retiring from the United States Air Force at Perrin Air Force Base, Texas in 1971.
