Bonham – The first crop of recipients has been named for Texas Farm Bureau’s all new district scholarship program.

“This scholarship program is unique because it allows young people from Farm Bureau families to showcase how they have given back to their communities, as well as Farm Bureau,” said Jerry Magness, president of the Fannin County Farm Bureau. “Plus, these scholarships are awarded on a district by district basis, so students compete against others from their local areas.”

• District 4: Ross Davis, Grayson County; Brittni Greig, Denton County; Murphy Norton, Cooke County; Kimberly Seaton, Tarrant County received scholarships. Each winner’s scholarship is worth $1,000, awarded $500 per semester. The scholarships were made available in 10 of the 13 TFB districts beginning this year.

“The cost of higher education continues to go up and students and their families can use every bit of help these days to cover those expenses,” Magness said. “Farm Bureau is committed to the education of our future and we hope this program will continue to grow.”
