McKinney -- Are you wary of what you might find on the Internet?  (Or what might find you?)  Local author and computer scientist Chuck Easttom will offer a free talk on computer security at the Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library, 101 E. Hunt St., on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 7 PM.  Mr. Easttom will be speaking about dangers on the Internet, and how individuals can protect themselves and their families.  The talk is intended for general, non-technical audiences.

Chuck Easttom is the author of eleven computer science books.  His newest, Computer Crime, Investigation, and the Law, co-written with McKinney Police Detective Jeff Taylor, was published in May 2010.  Mr. Easttom has extensive experience in medical software and network security, and is also a computer science educator, teaching part-time at colleges and for corporations.  He maintains a professional website at www.ChuckEasttom.com and a technical blog at http://chuckeasttom.blogspot.com.
