Annual gala to draw thousands of people, has raised $11.7 million to date to combat heart disease

DALLAS, TX  – – Dallas certainly knows its food, and this event is “the” annual event for foodies. Tickets are available now for Dallas’ premier food and wine event, 19th Annual Cotes Du Coeur International Fine Wine Auction & Celebrity Chef Dinner, which takes place April 10, 2010 at the Hilton Anatole.  Guests will enjoy dinner from Dallas’ top chefs and wine pairings directed by 10 master sommeliers. 

Côtes du Coeur has raised $11.7 million since 1992 to combat heart disease via research and education.  The gala features the largest charity wine auction in the Southwest and is one of the top three galas nationally in raising funds for the American Heart Association. 

Guests at Côtes du Coeur will enjoy a superlative dinner and wine pairing coordinated by local celebrity chef Richard Chamberlain and a committee of Dallas’ top chefs, including: Anthony Bombaci, Nana; Kent Rathbun, Abacus, Jasper’s, Rathbun’s Blue Plate; Scott Romano, Charlie Palmer at the Joule Hotel; Kevin Garvin and Anita Hirsch, Neiman Marcus; Jim Severson, Sevvy’s; Gerard Thompson, Rough Creek Lodge; Bruno Davaillon, The Mansion; Scott Gottlich, Bijoux; Jeffery Hobbs, Suze; David Holben, Del Frisco; James Johnson, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse; Kerry Simon, Marcus Strietzel, The Adolphus Hotel; and more. 

The chefs are joined by ten of the nation’s leading wine sommeliers presenting wines from 30 world-renowned wineries. Among these are eight Master Sommeliers who will be on-hand during the gala to guide guests through the wine auction and offer invaluable insights into all things wine-related.

Côtes du Coeur was founded by members of the medical community 19 years ago as a unique way to support the American Heart Association’s fight against heart disease and stroke.  Since 1992, Côtes du Coeur has attracted more than 15,000 people and raised more than $11.7 million for cardiovascular research and heart-health education. Cardiovascular disease and stroke are the number one and number three killers of all Americans, claiming close to 870,000 Americans lives each year.
