Bonham, Texas - Monday, May 24, 2010, the Texas Business Women of Bonham, Fannin County, Texas (TBW) formerly known as BPW welcomed their speaker, Bonham State Park Manager Lee Ellis.  Mr. Ellis gave a descriptive presentation of how the Bonham State Park is a huge tourist attraction for our area.

The 261-acre park contains a beautiful and tranquil 65-acre lake which provides the perfect setting for camping, picnicking, mountain biking, boating, canoe rentals and a newly sanded beach for swimming.  This scenic lake offers largemouth bass, channel catfish, crappie, bluegill and you do not have to purchase a fishing license to fish at the lake in Bonham State Park.

Additionally, Mr. Ellis educated everyone on GeoCaching which is a technologically advanced treasure hunting game for adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices that people all over the world play.  The park has 13 GeoCaches throughout their park and invites the public to play by logging in at http://www.geocaching.com

The park facilities include, restrooms with and without showers; picnic sites, campsites with water and electricity; a group camp with barracks and a dining hall, which accommodates approximately 94 people (the facility is only rented as a single unit, not separately) For more information on cost of group camping, campsites, canoe rentals etc…, call 903-583-5022
