Bonham, Texas -- Memorial service for Richard Vernon Brain, age 78, of Bonham will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham. Mr. Brain passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.

Richard Brain was born in Oakland, CA on February 3, 1932 to parents Vernon Clayton and Viola Florence Johnson Brain. He married Nancy Furrh on October 1, 1977 in Orange County, CA; she preceded him in death on November 10, 2005. He served in the U.S. Army. He also worked as an operations manager in manufacturing and was a member of Boyd Baptist Church.

He is survived by children-Kevin Brain of Idaho, Cydney Irwin of California, Darren Brain of California, grandchildren; and sister Shirley Weaver of California; step-son Boyce “Butch” Horton and wife Debra of Bonham, granddaughter Melissa Boudreaux of Broussard, LA, grandson Chad Horton of The Colony, TX.
