SHERMAN, TX – KXII-TV (Channel 12) is pleased to announce the return of meteorologist Megan Krannig to the First Weather Team.

Krannig first joined the KXII weather team in June of 2005, and left in 2009 to work at a private forecasting company in Houston. She returns to the First News Team effective today.

"I'm so excited to be back, and am anxious to hit the ground running and keep you informed of the weather that affects our lives," Krannig says.

KXII news director Charlie Haldeman says Channel 12 is elated to have Krannig’s talents back on its airwaves.

"Even though Megan's been away for more than a year, viewers still remember her and the accurate forecasts she provided for years. We couldn't be happier about her return to KXII."

A member of the American Meteorological Society, Megan is now working to get her AMS seal in the future.

KXII-TV operations manager Bryan Norman says the station is pleased to welcome another seasoned veteran to its viewers.

“Megan is one of the best forecasters in this region of the United States. She brings us extensive experience in severe weather forecasting," Norman said.

"Her experience, combined with Tom Miller’s and Steve Lanore’s experience, is something that no other station in our area can match. We are very happy to have her back."

Megan returns on the air Wednesday on First News at Noon, and will resume her role as weekend meteorologist on First News Weekends.

Krannig joins chief meteorologist Steve LaNore and longtime morning meteorologist Tom Miller to form the area’s most seasoned forecast team.
