The old path

We live in a society that is frantically searching for answers. Our activities and speech would indicate that we somehow believe that the circumstances we are experiencing are something  new under the sun. King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, said that there is nothing new under the sun.

The God of nature, God’s moral law being the foundation of our great Constitution provides the standard by which our law and activities of government and society are measured. Our founding fathers did not establish this standard but recognized it as already existing; having been instated by the Almighty God. We ignore this at our own peril. The rapid decline of our nation is evidence of the path we have chosen.

As a nation we must embrace truth and the reality of it if we are to survive. Samuel Adams expressed exactly this when he said: “In the supposed state of nature, all men are equally bound by the laws of nature, or to speak more properly, the laws of the Creator.” In one of his essays Mr. Adams also penned: “Neither the wisest Constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are unusually corrupt.”

The path we must be on as a nation is not one which must be built. We must return to the  old path. It is there that we will find peace and prosperity.
