Trenton Lady Tigers (14-14, 7-4) traveled to Wolfe City on Friday night and came away with an narrow win that kept them in second play in the district 17A(I) race. The win keep the Lady Tigers playoff hope alive and set up an key match up on Tuesday against the Lady Rebels of Sam Rayburn who has clinched the 17A (I) district championship in the final district game of the season.
The Lady Tigers got a slow start to things. The Lady Tigers could only connect on two field goals and the Lady Wolves took advantage of slow start and held a strong lead at the end of first period, 12-4.
In the second period, the Lady Tigers found their offense and tightened up on their defense. The Lady Tigers held the Lady Wolves to only four points while trimming their deficit and going into the half down 16-15.
The third period saw each team come out strong and neither team could gain the advantage and the lead stayed at one point for the Lady Wolves, 26-25.
In the fourth period, the Lady Tigers took an early four-point lead and with their strong defense held the Lady Wolves back to hold on to a 32-31 win.

Leading all scorers was Alexis Somers with 12 points and six assists, Marla Frazier finished with seven points, Casey Beezley had four points and seven rebounds, Joyce Garrison and Kristin also had four points, and Cessna Reed rounded the scoring off with one point and nine rebounds.
The Lady Tigers finish the regular season tomorrow, Tuesday, at home as they take on the Sam Rayburn Lady Rebels who have clinched the first place in the district. JV teams start at
