North Texas History Center special exhibit featuring historic quilts closes Jan. 16

Pieces of the Past...
McKINNEY, Texas – Come and visit the North Texas History Center as it transforms into a quilter’s paradise during this special exhibit of historic quilts during the holiday titled Pieces of the Past.
“We are so excited to have an exhibit like this at our museum,” said Vicki Day, executive director of NTHC. “These quilts provide a new way for us to share the history of North Texas with our visitors.”
Pieces of the Past features American quilts and coverlets from the 1870s to the 1930s. The exhibit will close Jan. 16, 2010.

Admission for this exhibit is $5 for adults and $3 for children. NTHC is located at 300 E. Virginia in downtown McKinney.
About the North Texas History Center
Since 1957, the Collin County Historical Society has been dedicated to preserving and collecting items related to North Texas history. In 1982, CCHS was able to expand its scope and began exhibiting North Texas history in its newly acquired museum. Today, the North Texas History Center shares local history with students from across North Texas, and with visitors from around the world. Through its thoughtfully created interpretive exhibits, NTHC is fulfilling its goal to share history and help visitors of all ages make meaningful connections between the past and present. NTHC, located at 300 E. Virginia just east of the square in downtown McKinney, is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Saturday.
