Home Light Burning - a novel by Jim H. Ainsworth

Come celebrate the launch of Jim’s latest novel. Food, fun and fellowship in the new A&M-Commerce Alumni Center. Easy access, plenty of close parking. A great facility on the south edge of the campus.

"Thank you to everyone who helped us launch Rivers Ebb over two years ago," the grateful author says. "You once again confirmed that stories bind us together as family and as friends. I am pleased to report that Rivers Ebb went on to win numerous awards and positive reviews.

"Home Light Burning, like my previous work, is based on real events and actual people," Jim explains. Writing it helped to solve a mystery that has been told and retold for over 140 years. At the end of the Civil War, two brothers are warned that the rivers of Texas will run red with the blood of former Confederate soldiers. The prediction comes true before they reach home. Violence pursues their families as they resume post-war lives – until one violent act goes too far. This is the story of the brothers and the four remarkable women that sustained them.

What they're saying...

Prolific and award winning novelist Suzanne Morris says:
Jake Rivers is the most lovable character I have ever encountered in fiction...The follow the Rivers Trilogy is one the most endearing stories that ever swept across the literary landscape, and yet its implications are universal.

Ainsworth's writing includes complex, colorful and unforgettable characters. -- Alice Reese, Greenville Herald Banner

Rivers Ebb, a refreshing change from formula fiction, belongs on every best-seller list in the country. Ainsworth's skills remain razor-sharp. Characters jump off the page and into our hearts.
