The Ector cross country team traveled to Humble, Texas Nov. 6 & 7 to compete in the Region III championship meet, with 22 teams and a total of 162 runners representing 40 plus schools. The Ector boys placed 5th as a team. Bradley Bingham had a time of 19:12 crossing the finish line in 21st place, Isaac Hicks placed 39th with a time of 19:52, Ethan Hicks placed 46th with a time of 20:02, Perry Crouch placed 56th with a time of 20:28, Parker Reid placed 133 with a time of 22:15, and Jacob Crowell placed 155th with a time of 25:28. This is the best team finish in school history and with only one senior on the team; the future looks bright for the Eagles.
The Lady Eagles had two runners finish in the top 10 at the district meet, and won the right to compete at the regional level. Alexis Ayers finished in 73rd place with a time of 15:02 and Carlie Easley finished in 81st place with a time of 15:13. Coach Terry Johnson is expecting great things in the future, from a very young group of athletes.
