Three North Texas residents recently competed in the “How Energy Smart Are You?” Trivia Challenge sponsored by Green Mountain Energy Company and smart center Dallas. Questions included “What type of light bulb uses 75% less energy and lasts 10 times longer than a regular incandescent light bulb” and “What is the leading cause of industrial air pollution in the U. S.?”

The contestants were ranked by correct answers to the trivia questions. Then, the contestants competed in a race of three smart cars to determine the winner.

The three participants were: Quirawn Hunter Taylor, Waxahachie; Mary Anne Greene, Dallas; and Susan Thompson, Flower Mound.

Green Mountain’s Super Earth Mascot kicked off the race. Susan Thompson was the winner and received a certificate for the use of a smart car for a week. Green Mountain and smart center Dallas, hosted the Trivia Challenge to promote the “Get Smart, Go Green!” 2009 Sweepstakes to give away a smart fortwo Passion Coupe.
