Bonham, Texas – (October 17, 2009) - The donated walls to the newest Habitat project are being delivered on October 25 at 4 pm. Members of Crossroads Mission Christian ministry from Louisville, Kentucky as well as members from Southwest Christian Church from Ft. Worth will be delivering the walls to 107 Parmele, the location of Habitat’s next home in Leonard. Both organizations provided materials and volunteers to prefabricate the walls. They are donating them to Fannin County HfH.

Spokesperson for Habitat, Wilson Fryar, told us, “We had hoped to have the foundation poured by the time we got the walls, but the Lord has provided us with much-needed rain this month instead. We have learned to rejoice in our blessings whenever they come and in whatever shape they are. Fannin County Habitat Board Members are encouraging the entire community to be at 107 Parmele on October 25th at 3:30 pm to enjoy snacks and fellowship as we thank you and the two mission groups for helping us get started in Leonard.”

Wilson went on to explain that local businesses have also been a blessing in expediting the foundation work. Quality Plumbing in Leonard has donated materials and labor for the home and McClure Electric is once again donating their labor. Both Bartoo Concrete and Rick Weaver Foundations are giving discounts for the cement and concrete work respectively. Also DML Drafting in Leonard donated their expertise in providing us with the house plans and Signwerks of Texas is donating a banner. Many local citizens and businesses have donated cash and services to help get this Habitat project underway. He finished by saying, “Please plan on being there to help us celebrate!”

More information about the two missions providing the walls: Since 1993 CrossRoads Missions has been combining the biblical principles of worship, service and discipleship by being a doorway for churches and individuals seeking ministry opportunities in places they may otherwise have difficulty serving. CrossRoads Missions accomplishes this goal by bringing people of all ages into missions in the United States and foreign fields. These experiences greatly challenge those who participate to consider deeper involvement in ministry in both the world and their own communities. Southwest Christian Church in Ft. Worth met this challenge and partnered with Crossroads Mission’s “Help Build Hope” project. Learn more about theses organizations by visiting www.crossroadsmissions.com and www.swcchurch.org.
