Dodd City Lady Hornets rally to beat Roxton

The Dodd City Lady Hornets came out to a rough start against the Roxton Lady Lions losing two straight games, but a determined Lady Hornet squad fought hard to win the next three to take their second district win.
Roxton took the first two games with scores of 25-19 and 25-22.
The Hornets dug deep and won the match with scores of 25-20, 25-21 and 15-11. The Lady Hornets are now 2-2 in district play and will head to Simms to face Simms Bowie on Friday at 4:00pm.
Leading the Lady Hornets offense tonight was freshman Alex Hilliard. Hilliard had 18 kills, 5 aces and 5 blocks. Senior Kayla Thompson had 15 assists, 8 digs and 2 aces.
Freshman Christi Petty had 3 aces and 14 digs. Freshman Misty Goodin had a solid night with 5 aces, 7 digs, and 14 assists. Freshman Rainy Goodin had a great defensive game with 12 digs.
Freshman Briann Hilliard added 2 aces, 10 kills and 2 blocks. Sophomore Lexi Langford had 10 digs, 3 kills and 2 aces on the night.
