Kathryn (Katie) Josephine Nix and Stephen Hrncir, Jr. were wed on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bonham, Texas.  Officiating were Rev. Dr. Larry Thomas and Rev. Dr. Sally Watson. 

The bride is the daughter of Charles and Dana Nix of Bonham and the granddaughter of E.C. and JoWilla Parker and Nell Nix, all of Bonham and the late Bill Nix.  She is a 2006 graduate of Bonham High School and is attending Texas A&M Commerce.  She will graduate in December with a degree in Health Promotion.  She has completed an internship with the American Cancer Society in Dallas, Texas. 

The groom is the son of Stephen and Lucy Hrncir of Beeville, Texas and the grandson of Irene McKeon and the late Joseph McKeon of El Campo, Texas and the late Stanley and Alice Hrncir of Hillje, Texas.  He is a 1999 graduate of A.C. Jones High School in Beeville and received a B.A. and M.S. in English and Kinesiology from Southern Arkansas University.  He is a coach and high school English teacher with the Beeville I.S.D. 

The bride wore a classic white fitted taffeta gown with a floor length veil edged with crystals and pearls.  She carried a bouquet of lavender roses on top of a prayer Bible. 

           

Matron of honor was Heather Nix Mosrie of Asheville, North Carolina, sister of the bride.  Bridesmaids were Lauren Parker Habluetzel of Greenville, Texas, cousin of the bride, Emily Parker of Ivanhoe, Emma Hurst of Bonham, Kristy Hrncir of Houston, and Sarah Alsobrook of Leonard.   The attendants wore black taffeta street length dresses and carried bouquets of lavender roses.  Flower girl was Madeleiine Nix Mosrie of Asheville, North Carolina, niece of the bride.  She wore an ankle length lavender dress. 

Best man was Brandon Shepherd of Jacksonville, North Carolina.  Groomsmen were Bryan Hrncir of Carrollton, brother of the groom, James Herrera of Austin, Curtis Hrncir of Albuquerque, New Mexico, cousin of the groom, James McKeon, of Ashland, Illinois, cousin of the groom and Ernie Perez of Beeville.    

Junior groomsman was Nicholas Charles Mosrie and ring bearer was Mason David Mosrie, both of Asheville, North Carolina, nephews of the bride. 

Ushers were Wes Habluetzel of Greenville, cousin of the bride, Jason Hrncir of Houston, cousin of the groom and Timothy Bezenah of Austin, friend of the groom. 

Music was provided by Susan Toland and Johnny Wells of Bonham.   Madeline Wells of Bonham registered the guests.  Wedding coordinator was Caroline Todd of Bonham. 

A dinner and dance were held at the Bonham Multi Purpose Center.  The dinner was catered by Cappy's Café of Bonham. Guests danced to the music presented by Party Machine DJ. 

Each dinner table was centered with fresh lavender.  Various tables throughout the facility carried out the bride’s chosen colors of lavender, black and white.  Fresh lavender roses adorned the various serving tables.  

The reception attendants included Sandy Wright, Taylor Cox, cousin of the bride, both of Bonham, Carolyn Hrncir of Carrollton, sister-in-law of the groom and Sandy Johnson, cousin of the groom, of Houston.  

They traveled to the island of Oahu for their honeymoon, and they currently reside in Beeville, Texas.  

Pre-wedding events included a kitchen shower hosted by Tricia Parker and Lauren Habluezel of Greenville; a church shower hosted by the First Presbyterian Church; a personal shower hosted by Patricia Cox and Cindy Godbey of Bonham, and a bridal brunch by Cara Outlaw and Decca Hodge of Bonham.  The Hawaiian Luau on the night of the wedding rehearsal was hosted by the groom’s parents and the bride's aunt and uncle, Betsy and Terry Sterkel.
