COMMERCE, Texas – The Bluebonnet Chorus, a Texas A&M University-Commerce student, faculty, and community ensemble, will soon begin rehearsals for a November concert and new members are invited to join.
The first rehearsal will be Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Music Building. Rehearsals will continue every Monday until the performance on Sunday evening, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
The chorus will be performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Missa Brevis in D Major” (K194) and Franz Josef Haydn’s “Te Deum.” The chorus will be conducted in rehearsals and performance by Dr. Chris White, music department head and Dr. Randall Hooper, director of choral activities.
Membership in the chorus does not require an audition for participation. Interested singers must simply purchase the score, pay the membership fee, and attend at least seven of the nine rehearsals and the dress rehearsal, White said.
The A&M-Commerce music department will provide scores and waive the fee for A&M-Commerce students.
