Kayla Leanne Hopkins and Derek Lee Bohannon, both of Ector, were wed on August 1^st at the First Baptist Church in Ector. Officiating was Morris Cook.

 

The bride is the daughter of Sandra and Donnie Lankford and Chris and Sherry Hopkins, all of Ector.  Her grandparents are Myrtis Williams and Dorothy and Bobby Harris, all of Bonham, Bertha Hopkins of Ector, and Dorothy Ludlam of Whitesboro.  She is a 2006 graduate of Ector High School, and will graduate from Texas A&M University-Commerce in May of 2010 with a degree in Biological Science.  She will then pursue a career in Physical Therapy.  She is employed by Brookshire’s.

 

The groom is the son of Gary and Dawn Bohannon of Ector.  His grandparents are David and Sue Bohannon of Lampasas and Jimmy and Jane White of Commerce.  He is a 2005 graduate of Ector High School and graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a degree in Industrial Engineering.  He is employed by ATT Wireless Expo.

 

 

Matron of honor was Kassie Moore, the bride’s sister.  Bridesmaids were Erica Williams, cousin of the bride, Ashley Ramsey, step sister of the bride, and Morgan Mayo, all of Ector.  Junior bridesmaids were Amy and Briana Bohannon, sisters of the groom.

 

Flower girl was Macy Bohannon, cousin of the groom.  Ring bearers were Colby Casstevens, nephew of the bride, and Logan Bohannon, cousin of the groom.

 

Best man was Scott Bohannon, the groom’s brother.  Groomsmen were Matt Cox, Joe Detwiler, and Kyle Bohannon, cousin of the groom.  Usher was Zachary Bohannon, cousin of the groom.

 

Guest register was Kristina Williams, cousin of the bride, and Amber Ramsey, step-sister of the bride.  Wedding Music was presented by Deborah Green.  Wedding assistants were Debbie Williams, Pam Anderson, and Lori Casstevens.

 

The bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Ector School cafeteria.  Assisting were Kristina Williams, Amber Ramsey, Jennifer Conn, and Jessica Bohannon.

 

A rehearsal dinner; hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at El Pueblo Mexican Restaurant in Sherman.

 

The couple resides in Bonham after a wedding trip to Marble Falls.

 

Pre-wedding activities included:  a shower at the First Baptist Church, hosted by Deborah Green, Judy Taylor, and Lisa Hicks; a bridal shower in Ector, hosted by Kassie Moore, Lori Casstevens, and Sherry Hopkins; and a bridal shower hosted by Dawn Bohannon and Marcia Bush.
