Terex recognized for commitment to training

Terex Mining of Denison was recently recognized for their commitment to training by the Center for Workplace Learning at Grayson County College. On-hand to receive the Most Valuable Training Partner award was Reinhard Reinartz, Mining Trucks general manager, Jim Krogman, Mining Drills general manager and Tony Chipkewich, human resource director.            

“Maintaining a learning culture through difficult economic times is an incredible accomplishment. Terex has continued to place value on improving the skills and knowledge of their team members. They are to be commended for that,” said Dr. Patty Pool, executive director for the CWL. Terex had a variety of courses taught through the CWL. The one-year training program to over 190 team members included courses such as: APICS­supply chain management, master scheduling, master planning of resources, Microsoft project management, Excel, facilitation skills, performance management and customer service. Their workforce received in excess of 3,500 hours of instruction.   

In thanking the CWL for the award, Chipkewich said, “We have seen tremendous benefits to our organization thanks to our relationship with the CWL. It has certainly furthered the Terex commitment to training.”           

The award is given annually to the organization ranking highest in placing a priority on education and training, assuring commitment to training programs and demonstrating professionalism in accomplishing training objectives. 

Terex receives Most Valuable Training Partner Award from Grayson County College’s Center for Workplace Learning. At the award presentation: Dr. Jeanie Hardin, GCC vice president of instruction, Dr. Patty Pool, executive director of CWL, Reinhard Reinartz, Terex Mining Trucks leader, Jim Krogman, Mining Drills leader, Tony Chipkewich, Terex director of human resources, Stephen Davidson, chair CWL advisory board, Kate Corder, CWL training coordinator.
