Last Tuesday, June 23, 2009, forty boys and girls and their sponsors from the Salvation Army's Boys and Girls Club toured the Perrin Air Force Base Museum located at 4575 Airport Drive, North Texas Regional Airport - Perrin Field.

The field trip activities included visitation throughout the Perrin Field Museum building, then they watched the Perrin Field/Perrin Air Force Base historical video. In addition, they viewed a video of the famous United States Air Force Thunderbird demonstration team performance filmed at Nellis Air Force Base Nevada.

The group was divided in half and one group touring the airport facilities, aircraft fire department, aircraft parked on the flight line, and the activities to support flying. They toured that Texoma Jet Center's maintenance and service hanger where the center maintains the larger executive type jet aircraft. They were several on display in the hanger. During the visit,  the two groups were switched in order to afford both groups identical airport and museum activities.

Museum volunteers assisted in answering  inquiries made by the boys and girls on certain artifacts and displayed memorabilia. They were briefed on what was happening as they viewed the base operations while at the airport.
