Ravenna, Texas -- Funeral Services with Military Honors for George William Perry, age 85, of Ravenna, TX will be held at 10:00 A.M. of Friday, June 26, 2009 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Ravenna, TX. Rev. Ricky Grandstaff will officiate the service.  Mr. Perry passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. 

George William Perry was born on September 22, 1923 to parents Dock Frank and Floy Lee Hasten Perry in Ravenna, TX.  Mr. Perry married wife of 62 years Ella Ross on November 1, 1946 in Bonham, TX. Mr. Perry was a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office, served in the U.S. Marines during World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the South Pacific and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ravenna.  

Survivors are wife Ella Perry of Ravenna, daughter Joy Perry Wise and spouse Jimmy of Ravenna, son-in-law Ron Adams of Ravenna, 5 grandchildren Karla Adams and spouse Jannah of Ravenna, Tamra Caraway and spouse Travis or Plano, Cody Adams and spouse Dana of Dallas, Josh McLemore and spouse Crystal of Luella, and Jason McLemore and spouse Nancy or Ravenna, along with 8 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by parents Dock and Floy Lee Perry, siblings Raymond Perry, Ralph Perry, Lola Bostick, and daughter Barbara Adams.  

Family visitation will be Thursday, June 25, 2009 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.
