Begging for change - Discussion to focus on homelessness
Jun 30, 2009 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The only way we are going to END HOMELESSNESS in our area is to talk about ways to end the underlying issues contributing to homelessness. Homeless shelters serve a very great need in helping people get back on their feet, resume self-sufficiency, and carry on with their lives, but even better would be to help the people prevent becoming homeless in the first place.
Don't you agree?
Homelessness in itself is the SYMPTOM of other problems. If we can identify and work on those issues, we will automatically impact
homelessness, and hopefully do away with the need for homeless shelters (including mine!).
This is where each of you comes in. We need your ideas, thoughts,
stories, brains.
This meeting won't simply be meeting for the sake of meeting or to plan a meeting or to discuss the last meeting meeting meeting. We will be
delving into deep discussions of the problems contributing to homelessness in our area with a goal of focusing on how we can end it.
We will also discuss the HUD Continuum of Care Balance of State grant RFP that will be announced soon.
Refreshments/light lunch will be served.
