Kids fishing derby set for Black Creek Lake near Decatur

The Rotary Club and U.S. Forest Service will sponsor a Fishing Derby for kids 16 and under from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 13, at Black Creek Lake. Sign-up will begin at 7:30 a.m.

Free hot dogs, chips and soda will be served and parents are welcome to attend.

From Decatur, travel north-west on US 81/287 4.5 miles, turn right on CR 2175 at the rest area, cross over railroad tracks, go 1 mile and turn left on Old Decatur Road. Go 4 miles, turn right on CR 2372; then, go 2 miles and turn left on CR 2461 for one-half mile. After crossing a bridge; turn left (west) on Forest Service Road 902 to the recreation area.
