Forage and Soils Workshop to be hosted by Fannin County, Texas AgriLife Extension Beef and Forage Committee

2-CEU’s for pesticide applicators

The Forage and Soils Workshop will be at the Fannin Coutny South Annex building at 6:00 p.m. June 4, 2009.  We will begin with hamburgers provided by the Fannin Beef and Forage Committee at 5:45. 

Speakers will include Dr. Vanessa Corriher Forage Specialist  from the Texas AgriLife Extension Service Overton Research Center discussing Soil and Forage management.  She will be followed by Casey Mattke from Dow Chemicals on chemical weed and brush control  methods.  Fannin County Extension agent Roger Skipper will discuss the use of the Texas AgriLife Extension Pond Management Website www.Aquaplant.tamu.edu.   

Cost for the event is $5 per person. Please RSVP for a meal count to

The Texas AgriLife Extension Beef and Forage Committee will be hosting several Land Management workshops during the upcoming summer months.  These workshops are designed to assist all landowners new and old, large and small, in land and resource management.  We have invited an excellent group of speakers from Texas AgriLife Extension, the Noble Foundation, Texas Parks and wildlife and The USDA-NRCS,  and Private Industry to present topics ranging from Resources, Land, Livestock and Wildlife Management.
