Trenton was able to win the first two of a best-of-3 series against Archer City Friday evening.  Trenton won game one by the score of 8-2 and won game two by the score of 7-6.

Trenton's starting pitcher Trevor Lynn had control in game 1.  Lynn pitched a complete game, gave up 6 hits, walked only 1, gave up 0 earned runs, and struck out 7.  It was a great effort from the Trenton senior.

Trenton did a good job executing and getting timely hits in the first contest.  TJ Oquin started the scoring off with an RBI double in the 3rd inning.  Trevor Lynn helped his own cause with a 2 RBI single in the 4th inning.  Ryan McCarley also had a good game by going 2-4 with an RBI.

Other Trenton hitters were as follows:
TJ Lynn  1-4
Justin Hinton 1-3 (double)
Brock Murphree  0-3
Randy Tripp  2-4
Derek Meyer  0-2
Cramer Johnson  0-3 (sac)

Trenton finished the game with 8 hits and only 1 error.

Trenton jumped out early in game two, but Archer City fought hard to make it one that came down to the wire.

Trenton starter Nathan Henry did a good job on the mound and picked up the win for the Tigers.  Henry went 5 innings, only gave up 2 hits, 3 earned runs, walked 7, and struck out 3.

Justin Hinton came on in relief in the 6th inning and got some big outs for Trenton.  Hinton went 1 1/3 innings, gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, walked 2, and struck out 1.  Derek Meyer came in to close the game in the top of the 7th inning.  With 2 outs, the tying run at third and go-ahead run at 2nd, Meyer got a tapper back to the mound for a 1-3 put out to end the game.  It was a hard-fought win for the Tigers to close out the bi-district championship.

Trenton had plenty of hits in game 2 but left too many stranded.  The Trenton hitters finished as follows:

Trevor Lynn  3-4 (double and RBI)
TJ Lynn 1-2  (2 sacs)
Ryan McCarley  2-4 (double / triple and 2 RBI)
Justin Hinton  2-3
Brock Murphree  2-3 (RBI)
Randy Tripp  1-3 (double)
Derek Meyer 1-3
Cramer Johnson 1-3 (double)
TJ Oquin 0-3

The Tigers finished the game with 13 hits and 2 errors.

The two wins bring Trenton's season record to 19-8.  The Tigers will face Frost for the area championship.  Game one  between Trenton and Frost will be played 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 at Mesquite Poteet High School’s Copeland Fields, located at 3300 Poteet Drive in Mesquite.
