By First Christian Church of Bonham
May 16, 2009

Once again, The First Christian Church of Bonham offers the community an evening of entertainment and outstanding music for FREE. At 5:PM on Saturday, May 16, the area behind the church will become a play-land of sorts featuring free hotdogs, a bounce house, face painting, games and miniature horse drawn-wagon rides.

The church is located on the corner of Main and Seventh Streets in downtown Bonham.

At 6:PM the action moves to the front steps of the historic old church for the concert portion of the evening. A block of Main Street will be closed off to accommodate the expected crowd of fans for this yearly event. Seating for the concert will be on the lawn, street, sidewalk and parking lot so it is suggested that you bring a lawn chair for comfort. Minister Rick Edwards is excited with the line-up of talent, for this year’s “concert on the steps”, saying that a number of the performers will be recognized from recent national television exposure.

MERROL RAY: Well-known recording artist MERROL RAY, founding member of “MILES FROM NOWHERE” is scheduled to appear.  After the band won the “Shiner Records Rising Star Contest” they went on to record in Nashville for Palo Duro Records.  Their songs “Bloodline” and “When I Get Pain” are receiving a lot of airtime.

CAS HALEY: From the stage of “AMERICA’S GOT TALENT” the one and only CAS HALEY. Originally from Paris, Texas, Cas is a multi-talented, singer-song writer, who was the runner-up on Season 2 of this great show. His self-titled album soured to #8 on the Billboard Charts.

DISCIPLE PRAISE: One of Bonham’s favorite Christian Music groups, the outstanding First Christian Church Musical Ensemble known as “DISCIPLE PRAISE.”

TYLER BEASON: Contemporary Christian musician. This talented musician is well known for his many appearances at Christian Youth events around North Texas. First Christian Church is blessed to have him grace our stage.
