Collins – 60th Anniversary

Jim and Sue Collins were honored by their family with a 60th wedding anniversary dinner at the home of their daughter on Lake Texoma.

The Collins were married May 17th, 1949, at the  First Presbyterian Church, Bonham, TX by Dr. Chalmers Long.    Attendants were Billy Collins, brother of the groom and Jeannette Logan.

Jim and Sue both graduated from Bonham High School.  After serving in the Navy, Jim worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as Postmaster of Sulphur Springs, Texas.  Sue worked for the Lone Star Gas Company.

 

 

The Collins have 4 children: son  Eddie Collins and wife, Dana, of McKinney, TX;  the twins, David Collins and wife, Vicki, of Midlothian, TX and Minnette Bilbo and husband, David, of College Station, TX, and daughter, Emilie Collins and husband, Troy Jaco, of Pottsboro, TX.  They have 5 grandchildren: Ross Collins, Taylor Collins, Phillip Collins, Michelle Bilbo and Ashlee Bilbo. 

 

Jim has been active in Boy Scouts most of his life.  He and Sue are very active volunteers with their church, First Presbyterian Church of Bonham.  They enjoy gardening, including maintaining a vineyard for the last 20 years and are active in the Iris Club.  They enjoy playing bridge with their lifelong friends.
