The Bland Tigers took a big early lead and then watched the Trenton Tigers fight back to tie the score before Bland won the contest with a run in the eighth inning.
Bland went up 4-0 in the first inning, but Trenton began whittling away at the lead. Trenton plated one runner in each of the second, third, fourth and fifth innings to tie the game 4-4.
Bland responded with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Trenton answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to pull even at 6-6.
A scoreless seventh stanza sent the game into extra innings.
Bland added a run in the top of the eighth inning and this time Trenton had no answer. A very exciting game between these two competitive baseball programs ended with Bland on top, 7-6.
Bland workhorse Trevor Spillman went the entire eight innings on the mound to notch the win.
Trenton's Trevor Lynn took the loss.
With the victory, Bland improves to 9-2 in district and they travel to Savoy on Friday, April 24 for a contest scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
