Bonham, TX  –   “Local elections are so important,” says Ruth Ann Moore President of the Bonham chapter of BPW/USA. “Electing qualified, caring people as our local officials is critical. Those leaders shape the future of our communities. That’s why we will again collaborate with KFYN to host a Candidate Forum for the upcoming May elections.”

To give local voters an opportunity to get to know their candidates the Bonham Chapter of BPW/USA will host a candidate forum for the City of Bonham elections on April 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the American Bank in Bonham.

All candidates on the ballot for the May election have been invited to participate in the forum. Each candidate will have one minute to address the audience as to their qualifications and goals. They will then receive five questions to respond to in a three-minute time period. A thirty-second rebuttal is then allowed from their opponent. There will also be pre-screened questions from the audience directed to the appropriate candidate.

The forum will be broadcast on KFYN 1420 AM, Cable One – Channel 30 and on the web at www.Kfyn1420.com. Spanky Carter owner of KFYN will act as the moderator.

The candidates are:

Bonham City Mayor – Michael S. Evans; Roy V. Floyd

Bonham City Council – Member Ward No. 1:  John W. Burnett; Bob Self

Bonham City Council – Member Ward No. 5:  Joe W. Clark; Bill Munger
