'Small Grains Field Day' in Leonard set May 12

A “Small Grains Field Day” educational event for area producers
will be held at the Leonard ISD Agriculture Science Building, Leonard, Texas on Tuesday, May 12.  Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Fannin County, will be hosting this free event from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with lunch provided. 

Several Extension Specialists and Texas AgriLife Research Scientists will present the latest information on small grains research using the Texas A&M - Leonard Research Plots as an outdoor
classroom.

Informational speakers will include: Kody Bessent (Texas
Wheat Board) will present update information on activities of the Wheat Board, Dr Blake Bennet (Texas AgriLife Extension Economist) will present a Wheat Market Outlook, and Dr Gaylon Morgan will present an update on Herbicides and Weed control. 

Three CEU’s will be offered for all those attending that have a Pesticide Applicators License. 

There is no cost to attend; however, registration by Monday, May 4 is required to secure a meal and presentation handouts.
