The group also has full use of the Ranch with miles of lovely private trout stream, a hot springs spa, massages, yoga, horseback riding, and a friendly and attentive staff. This retreat is perfect for both beginners and avid fly fisherwomen with women-only certified instructors with the Federation of Fly Fishers.
Ladies are offered three options for this retreat:
Retreat: For the more self-sufficient anglers, this retreatgives you all the amenities that the Ranch has to offer and the freedom to schedule your own days at a special group rate. Fish as much as you want, or enjoy a horseback ride or a soak in the hot springs tub. Enjoy meals at the lodge and evening activities with the whole group. Cost: $2390 plus tax. Five days of self-guided fly fishing or activities of choice
School: A fly-fishing school is available for "beginner-beginners" or those needing a thorough, structured introduction to fly fishing. The retreat will cover all the basics: casting, fly selection, wading safely, knot tying and (of course) playing, landing and releasing fish. Daily half-day instruction gives you the balance of the day to explore on your own. Fishing equipment can be provided as needed. Cost: $2790. Five half-days of hands-on instruction.
Retreat Plus: The “Retreat Plus” option is best for women who don't yet feel completely independent, but already have an introduction to fly-fishing. Two half-days of instruction review and extend basic skills (casting, knot-tying and rigging, reading water and presenting flies) and brief, daily trouble-shooting sessions will help beginners transition to intermediate levels and have greater confidence in their own abilities. Cost: $2590. Two half-day group clinics plus daily trouble-shooting discussion
Dates: June 14-20th, 2009. Cost: For further information about the Women's Wine and Waders Retreat please contact the 4UR Ranch at 719-658-2202 or click here for the website.
