Local Ben & Jerry's franchises to only serve vanilla & chocolate flavors

Focus to be on new line of better for you smoothies
Plano, Texas (Grassroots Newswire) April 1, 2009 -- In what has already been considered a controversial move, Ice Cream Czar Hunter Rose has declared that Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops in Plano and Highland Village will only be serving Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream beginning mid April. The move coincides with a new focus on smoothies.
The self-proclaimed Ice Cream Czar explains, "We have a new line of Smoothies that are under 250 calories. We believe that all of the big chunks and thick swirls in our ice cream are a distraction from this new line of great tasting Smoothies. We will still serve Chocolate and Vanilla, but otherwise will only serve our full line of Frozen Yogurts and Sorbets that we use in our Smoothies."

The new Smoothies use all natural ingredients and real fruit. They incorporate flavors such as Pomegranate, Mango, Pineapple, Black Raspberry and Kiwi. There are a variety of euphoric Smoothie concoctions or customers can design their own.
