DURANT, Okla. -- Southeastern Oklahoma State University hosted the 96th annual Curriculum Contest Thursday with 70 high schools participating.

First-, second-, and third-place trophies were awarded in four divisions with New Lima topping Division I, Latta winning Division II, Plainview taking Division III, and Ada finishing first in Division IV.

Kiowa was second and Turner third in Division I. Wright City finished second and Silo took third in Division II. Byng was second and Idabel third in Division III.

Durant took the runner-up spot with Broken Bow third in Division IV.

Complete individual results will be tabulated and made available to the schools and trophies will be mailed to the winners.

Southeastern's Dr. Gordon Eggleton and a host of SE faculty and staff administered the tests.

Eggleton said, "It's always a pleasure to have the brightest and best students from our area schools on campus. Thanks also for the time and effort of the sponsors from each school that provide this opportunity for their students.

"The compliment from one of the last sponsors to leave late Thursday afternoon should have been given to everyone involved -- 'this is the best one (contest) we go to' -- it's the effort of our faculty and staff to take care of all the details that make this event memorable."
