Whitewright (3-0) remains undefeated in District 11-2A with a win over the Bells Panthers (1-2) Friday night.  Ryan Klose went 3-4, had two doubles and one RBI for the Panthers.  Coltin Payne, Hunter Carr and Pate Pritchard also had doubles and Pritchard had 4 RBIs for Bells.  Blake Bearden had a double for Whitewright.  Chris Bearden went the distance for the Tigers, pitching a complete game while having 16 strikeouts, walking 5, and allowing 8 hits.

Cody Vaughn would start for the Panthers, but with the Tigers leading 5-0 Vaughn would be relieved in the second inning by Reed Klose after a very shaky start.  Vaughn would get the loss for Bells and have 2 strike outs, walk 2, and allow 3 hits in 1 2/3 innings.  Reed Klose had 13 strikeouts, allowed 7 hits, 3 walks, and 1 hit batter in 6 1/3 innings.

Whitewright started off the first inning with a single, a stolen base and a passed ball would put the runner on third.  Hamilton would single to score the runner, but Bells catcher, Coltin Payne would get Hamilton stealing second.  The inning would end with a fly out to second and a ground out back to Bells pitcher Vaughn.

The Panthers would go three up three down in the first inning.  Vaughn would strike out, Nate Neal grounded out to shortstop and Ryan Klose grounded out to first base.  The Tigers would take a 1-0 lead after the first inning.

Dustin Watson would start what would be a six run second inning for the Tigers by reaching base on a fielding error at shortstop, then he would steal second.  Vaughn would get a strikeout, but a single to left field would put runners on the corner for Whitewright.  A bunt down first base line by Threadgill would score Watson from third, as the throw home by Klose would be knocked loosed at the plate.  A walk by Vaughn would load the bases, and a wild pitch would score another run for the Tigers.  An overthrow pickoff move to third base by Vaughn would score another run for Whitewright.  The Tigers would score on a fielder’s choice to shortstop on the throw home attempting to get the runner from third.  Vaughn would over throw first on an attempted pickoff and another wild pitch would put the Tigers in scoring position at third.  Vaughn would get a strikeout, and walk a batter for runners on the corners again for the Tigers.  Bells’ coach would then make a pitching change, and look for relief from Reed Klose.  With two outs and runners on the corners, Blake Bearden would get a 2 RBI double off Klose.  Then Watson would reach first on an infield hit before Klose would end the inning with a strikeout.  The Tigers would take a huge lead 7-0 after two at bats.

Bells would have a lot of ground to make up, and Trey Pedigo would start off the second inning with a walk, then Coltin Payne would single to center field.  Reed Klose would strike out and Hunter Carr would walk to load the bases.  Pate Pritchard would walk, to give Bells their first run.  Payne would score on a wild pitch and Joe Wright and Vaughn would strikeout, leaving two Panthers on base.  Whitewright would lead 7-2.

Klose would get two strikeouts for Bells in the third inning.  Interference by the catcher and a stolen base would put one runner on second for the Tigers.  Wright would make a play at first on a ground ball to second to end the inning.

The Panthers would score four runs in the third inning and trail by one run, 7-6.  Neal and Ryan Klose would start off with singles.  Pedigo would strike out and Payne would reach first on another catcher’s interference call.  A wild pitch by C. Bearden would score a Neal from third.  Reed Klose would strike out for the second out, and Carr would load the bases with a walk.  Pritchard would clear the bases with a smashing double to right field before Wright would strike out.

Back to work on the mound, Klose would get three strikeouts in the fourth inning, but a single and a walk would leave two runners on for the Tigers.  For Bells, the fourth inning would also be short.  Vaughn would fly out to center field and Neal would strike out.  Ryan Klose would plaster a double to left field wall and Pedigo would strike out to end the inning.  Whitewright would maintain a one run lead, 7-6, after 4 innings.

The Tigers would start off the fifth inning reaching second base on a missed fly ball by Bells’ left fielder; a stolen base would put the runner at third.  Threadgill would single and score the runner.  A strikeout by Klose and a fly out to right field would make two outs.  A hit batter and a single would score another run, before Klose would end the inning on a strikeout.  Whitewright would add two more runs and take a three run lead, 9-6.  Up for Bells, Coltin Payne would nail a double to left field, but three straight strikeouts by Reed Klose, Carr and Pritchard would end the inning for the Panthers.

Whitewright would add 2 more runs in the sixth inning.  Watson would strikeout, Spann single and then a walk would put two runners on for the Tigers.  Ryan Klose would catch a fly ball at first, then a single would score one for the Tigers and a walk would put runners on the corners.  Another run would score on a throw down to second, and Hamilton would strikeout to end the inning.  Bells would start the sixth inning off with a strikeout by Wright, Vaughn would draw a walk, and Neal would strike out.  Ryan Klose doubled, just barely missing the left center field fence, to score Vaughn from first.  Pedigo would end the inning with a strikeout.  Whitewright would lead 11-7.

Klose would be faced with the heart of Whitewright’s lineup and strike out the side in the seventh inning.  The Panthers would have one last chance to make up ground.  Payne would strike out and Reed Klose would fly out to left field.  Carr would get on base with a double down right field line, but Pritchard would ground out to second to end the game.  Whitewright would win 11-7.
