Commerce -- C.J. Broades, NeRonte Threatt, Deante Reid and Michael Wacha all finished in double figures to power Pleasant Grove past the Paris Wildcats in a Region II-3A Semifinal contest played Friday at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Paris had trouble countering the outside game of Pleasant Grove, particularly Reid and Broades, who each went 2-for-3 from three-point range.

Still, the Wildcats equaled or bettered Pleasant Grove in three-out-of- four quarters.  Unfortunately for Paris, Pleasant Grove outscored the Wildcats 22-10 in a second stanza that decided the outcome of the game.

The game was tied 13-13 after the first period before Pleasant Grove took over in the second quarter to open up a 35-23 lead at halftime. The Wildcats outscored Pleasant Grove by six points over the final two periods, however it just wasn't enough to erase their early deficit

Paris' RoRo Barr scored a game-high 17 points, Equettis Jenkins finished with 15 points, Quinn Rollerson dropped in a dozen points, Westley Martin had seven points, Dominique Mitchell chipped in six points and Kendall King added four points.

For Pleasant Grove, it was C.J. Broades leading the scoring with 15 points.  NeRonte Threatt was close behind with 14 points and Deante Reid had 11 points.  Michael Wacha turned in an outstanding double-double performance, knocking down 5-of-7 shots to finish with 10 points while also grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds in the regional semifinals.

Pleasant Grove will advance to the Region II-3A Finals on Saturday at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
