Park Place Motorcars recently hosted the Greater Southlake Women's Society to kick off the 2009 Festival of Trees, and introduce the new 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK.

“Festival of Trees II” by Trisha Biddle will be auctioned off at the 2009 Festival of Trees

Park Place Motorcars is the presenting sponsor of the 2009 Festival of Trees. Westlake artist Trish Biddle created a special piece of art, entitled “Festival of Trees II,” which will be offered in the live auction at the Festival of Trees.

At the kickoff reception, Cowboy Chef Grady Spears tickled guests’ taste buds with beef sliders with candied bacon and spicy mayonnaise. Other delicacies included Chicken Tostones with avacado cream and goat cheese and carmelized onion tarts. For dessert, mini white chocolate bundt cakes were served. Chef Spears also sent everyone home with delicious apricot fried pies, and the recipe for how to make them at home.

Guests also enjoyed the retro stylings of Johnny Lloyd Rollins, who evoked Elvis’ charisma, Paul McCartney’s boyish charm, the Beatles’ harmonies, and the storytelling of Johnny Cash.

The Mercedes-Benz GLK is a small-sized SUV with full-sized performance, powered by a 268-horsepower 3.5L V-6 engine and 7-speed automatic transmission with 4MATIC 4-wheel drive with 19" aluminum wheels. The five-passenger SUV offers 54.7 cubic feet of cargo space in a sporty package.

Held the weekend before Thanksgiving at Southlake Town Square, the Festival of Trees will feature Christmas trees decorated by local companies and non-profit groups to be sold during the event.
