The Bland Lady Tigers opened district play with a decisive 76-25 victory over the Wolfe City Lady Wolves. Bland hit the court in high gear, rattling the rim for 22 points in the first quarter while holding Wolfe City scoreless.
The Lady Tigers were up 41-11 at intermission and Bland outscoted Wolfe City 35-14 in the second half.
Anne Waidelich and Morgan McNatt provided most of the firepower as the duo combined for 39 points to pace the Bland offense. Waidelich led all scorers with 21 points and McNatt finished with 18 points Phipps threw in 13 points, Hannah Black had 11 points and Jessica Feagin scored seven.
Lindsey Wilkinson led Wolfe City with 11 points and Megan Gray added five points for the Lady Wolves.
Bland improves to 12-4 on the year and 1-0 district action.
In the JV girls game, Bland came out on top, 37-24.
