Eula Cooper “Blue Eyes” Rich

Bonham – Funeral services for Eula Cooper “Blue Eyes” Rich, 88, of Bonham will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel in Bonham.  Rev. Lyn Holly and Rev. Jerry Hollowell will officiate.  Interment will follow in Arledge Ridge Cemetery.  She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 19 at Bonham Nursing Center.

 

Eula Cooper was born March 24, 1920 in Cotton Center, Texas to William Morrison Cooper and Willie B. Bridges Cooper.  From birth, many friends and family members called Eula “Blue Eyes” and referred to her twin sister as “Brown Eyes” because that was the easiest way to tell the babies apart.  Eula graduated from Gober High School.  

 

On November 29, 1953, Eula Cooper married R.D. Rich in Bonham, Texas.  He preceded her in death on August 30, 2002.  She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse, working at Allen Memorial Hospital, Bonham Nursing Center and Fairview Nursing Center. 

 

Eula was a lifelong resident of Fannin County.  She was a loving, caring, and never tiring wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Christian.  She was a member of Boyd Baptist Church.  Eula will be greatly missed by her family and her many, many friends.

 

Pallbearers will be grandsons; Colby Rich, Micah Rich, Chris Rich, David Fairchild, John Lehde and Willie Roberts.

 

She is survived by: daughters, Dianne Lehde and husband Jack of Bonham and Linda Bideler and husband Ron of Yellville, Arkansas; three sons, Allen Rich, Mark Rich and wife Donna, Lynn Rich and wife Leslie of Bonham; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother Ray Cooper and wife Rosie of Bonham; plus several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Rich; twin sister, Faye McCormick; brother, Leon Simmons; her parents; and a great-granddaughter, Kylie Lehde.

 

The family will receive friend Monday from 7-8 PM at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
