Hurricane Ike Fundraiser

The Sherman High School Peer Assistance Leadership (PALS) group raised $700 for people displaced by Hurricane Ike. “This year’s PALS worked hard and the SHS faculty and students were so generous,” stated PALS sponsor, Karla Graham. Class members collected most of the funds during lunch in about a week and a half.

Shown here is Texoma Area Red Cross Executive Director, Sharon Watson posing with PALS members when they delivered the $700 check.

Homecoming Parade

The annual Homecoming Parade is a sight for sore eyes and ears! Lots and Lots of lovely ladies in oh so many beautiful cars with incredible SHS band music leading the way.

Living History

To commemorate the beginning of America’s first overland mail route 150 years ago, the Butterfield stage coach traveled through Sherman,
September 19. Dillingham and Neblett students were a part of the
reenactment when letters they wrote to each other were picked up by the stage coach and dropped off at one another’s campus.

Shown here is a fifth grade student handing the mail over to the stagecoach driver to be delivered to Neblett students.

Lunch Money Now!

The Child Nutrition Department of Sherman ISD is implementing an
innovative new service for our students and parents. This exciting new
service is called Lunch Money Now. Lunch Money Now is a program that will permit parents to access their student’s cafeteria account via the Internet. This access will provide the parent with the ability to do
several things including checking the student’s balance, viewing the
student’s purchase history, and making deposits to the child’s lunch
money account using a credit card. Parents are also able to subscribe
for email warnings when their child's account dips below a specified
threshold reminding the parent that their child's balance needs
attention. The credit card deposits are made using a secure transaction site and are typically available within 30 minutes of the transaction
during the regular school day. You can make deposits to multiple
accounts with the same credit card transaction. There is a $2.50 fee for this service. The access to your student’s account is also secure
requiring several items of student identification to view balances, view
purchase history and make deposits via the Internet. You may gain access to Lunch Money Now by going to the District web site
(www.shermanisd.net). You may also access additional information and step by step instructions on how to use all the features of Lunch Money Now by following the links on this web site. Of course, you may put money on your child’s account at any time by simply sending or bringing cash or a check to a school cafeteria where it can be entered directly to a child’s account.
