The Bells Panthers would move to 2-1 in district play with a win over the Tom Bean Tomcats Friday night. 
 
Jordan Shults would get the start for Bells and go 3 1/3 innings with 1 strikeout, 3 walks, and no hits.  Reed Klose would relieve Shults in the third and allow 2 hits, have 5 strikeouts, 3 walks and hit 1 batter. 
 
Klose would claim the win, and Matt Romig would enter the game in the seventh inning to pitch to the last batter for the save.  Costly errors would hurt the Panthers throughout the game, but their offense would rally to score runs when needed.  Bells would finish with 13 hits and 12 errors.  Tom Bean would have 2 hits and 3 errors.
 
The first inning would go three up, three down for both sides.  The Panthers would leave 2 runners in scoring position in the second, where the Tomcats would go up by two on errors.
 
The Panthers would answer in the third and score 2 runs on a two out rally.  Nathan Martin would draw a walk, Coltin Payne would get a double on an error by left field, which would score Martin, and Ryan Klose would smack a double to the gap in left-center field to score Payne an the Panthers would tie the game. 
 
Tom Bean would add 4 runs in the third and go up 6-2.  Two walks by Shults would bring in Klose to pitch for the Panthers.  A single would score one run and another single and a walk would load the bases, then a hit batter would add another run.  Two more runs would score on throwing errors.
 
Bells would get back to work in the fourth and tie the game 6-6.  Joe Wright would get a single up the middle and advance to second base on a passed ball.  Again the Panthers are faced with two outs.  Max Morris slaps a double right field and scores Wright. 
 
Cody Vaughn draws a walk and Martin hammers a double to the gap in right center field scoring Morris and Vaughn.  Payne would get a single to right field to score Martin and Ryan Klose would ground out to short stop for the final out of the inning.  The Panthers would go three up three down in the fourth to hold the Tomcats.
 
In the fifth inning Bells would leave two runners stranded on base and Tom Bean would add 3 more runs and go up 9-6.  The Panthers would again tie the game 9-9 in the sixth inning.  Vaughn would start off with a double to center field.  Payne would draw a walk and both runners would advance on a balk by the pitcher. 
 
With runners in scoring position, Ryan Klose would drive a single down right field line to score Vaughn and Payne.  Reed Klose would get a single to right field to score brother, Ryan Klose.  The Panthers would again hold the Tomcats in the sixth.
 
In the seventh inning, Wright would start the Panthers off with a single and then advance to third on a passed ball.  Morris would get to first on a fielding error by Tom Bean's shortstop, scoring Wright.  Vaughn would hit a double to center field, and in an effort to score; Morris would be thrown out at the plate.  Vaughn would be left stranded on third after Martin grounded out to the pitcher.  The Panthers would go up 10-9 and look to hold Tom Bean for the win.
 
In the seventh for Tom Bean, two quick outs back to pitcher Reed Klose would find themselves struggling for runs.  Then, a throwing error by shortstop would put the tying run on base.  After a walk by Klose, Matt Romig would take the mound with two runners on base.  Romig would pitch to only one batter and get a fly out to center field for the save and Klose would take the win.
 
The Panthers offense would be as follows: Joe Wright 3-3 (walk), Ryan Klose 3-4 (double, 3 RBIs), Cody Vaughn 2-4 (2 doubles, walk), Max Morris 1-3 (double, 2 RBIs), Coltin Payne 1-3 (walk, 1 RBI), Nathan Martin 1-4 (double, walk, 2 RBIs), Reed Klose 1-4 (1 RBI), Jordan Shults 0-3 (walk), Matt Romig 0-3, and Hunter Carr 0-1.
 
Bells will host S&S Tuesday beginning at 4:00 pm.
