Great Things – all in one month

September 25 marked one month of school for Sherman I.S.D. Principals, staff, students and parents throughout Sherman I.S.D. have commented on the positive impact of the completed construction. With only a few bumps along the way, students have settled in for some serious learning. The newly implemented C-SCOPE curriculum in math and science for grades K-12 is proving helpful to increase opportunities for student success. From the superior financial rating SISD received, to the fact that Sherman High School’s SAT/ACT scores are above state and national scores, this looks to be the start of an incredible year for both teachers and students.

More Great News…..

After last week’s showing of Sherman High School’s high SAT and ACT scores, more good news is on the horizon. Sherman I.S.D. received word that eight SHS seniors received honors from the 2009 National Merit Scholarship program. Congratulations to the three Sherman High School National Merit Semi-finalists and the five National Merit Commended Scholars that were announced this week. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships that are offered each spring.
