Cpl. Marty Hall responded to a report of vehicle traffic and suspicious persons on the beach area off of Shoreline Drive north of Pottsboro.  Upon arrival to the beach as Cpl. Hall and Deputy Scott were walking down the beach area, they observed a vehicle leaving the beach area in a hurry.  Deputy Scott observed a white male on the beach.  He approached him and could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath, his speech was slurred and he was uneasy on his feet.  Deputy Scott helped him up the hill and the Sherman man advised him they had been drinking on the beach when they saw the deputies coming down the hill, the others took off running and left in the car.  The Sherman man identified as Christopher David Parker said he tried to run himself, but fell down the embankment and was unable to get up.  Mr. Parker was taken to the Grayson County Jail and charged with Public Intoxication.

A representative from a Gainesville Well Service checked on an oil lease and discovered that someone had cut the lock on the gate and steel rods, pieces of the pump-jack, scrap copper wire and a 40hp motor from the pump-jack valued at over $6,000.00.  The representative from the well services told Sgt. David Sikes that he found some of the items at a metal scrap yard on Hw-82 west of Sherman.  Investigation into this case is continuing.

A Plano resident reported to Sgt. David Sikes that they received a call from the Sherman Police Department that they had recovered there boat.  They told Sgt. Sikes they had no idea that it had been taken.  The last time they saw it, it was stored at the Hwy-84 boat storage lot north west of Denison.  A check with the Sherman Police Department showed they had recovered the boat but the motor was missing.  Attempts to make further contact with the owners have not been successful.

A Tom Bean resident was checking the bank statements when they discovered a check out of sequence.  A check online showed the check was not signed by either parties and was made out to someone they know.  Further investigation into this matter is on going.
