Andrew (Tyler) Wallace, a senior at Austin College, is interning this summer at the Sam Rayburn House Museum. A graduate of Borden County ISD in Gail, TX, Wallace is majoring in political science with a minor in history. Funding for Tyler’s internship is made possible through a grant from the Lilly Foundation to Austin College.

As an intern at the museum, Tyler assists with curatorial projects such as cataloging photos, preparing condition reports for artifacts and assisting with preventative conservation tasks. Tyler is also completing several research projects with one focused specifically on Lyndon Johnson’s visits to the Sam Rayburn home in Bonham. Tyler has assisted museum staff with special programs and group tours of the site. Tyler’s personal goals for the internship include learning more about Sam Rayburn along with his connections to Lyndon Johnson.

Tyler’s career goals include working in the museum field, songwriting and being a professional pilot.  In his free time he enjoys playing in the band Union Specific, flying and reading.
